17th August – o70’ ‘Inspiration Trophy’
We have been pioneers of establishing the o70’ competition , running tournaments in 2021 and 2023
These were forerunners (and a test bed) for the EWFL o70’league that has been established this year
We are maintaining our tradition of running the tournament by introducing the ‘Inspiration Trophy’ this year
It is a celebration of playing football in our 70’!
Chelmsford; Billericay; Eastwood Falcons; Little Oakley; Leyton Orient; and Cheshunt will enjoy a fun afternoon
Ray & Tony have the team lined up, but if you want to come and support, please do so
12th October – David Clark 80th birthday celebration tournament
David Clarke becomes our 4th octogenarian on the 6th September (surely not!!)
I’m sure that we will be slapping David on the back throughout September, however, we will have our traditional celebration tournament on the 12th October
It will be the usual fun tournament , with a balloon, cake , sausage and chips and a few drinks over at the clubhouse.
We will send more details out on Spond nearer the time, but I know there will be a great turn out!!
13th October – Gunrunner Social Night
Our social night in October is a great chance to enjoy some different time together, it is also an opportunity to help raise more money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Club members and the Gunrunner following have already reserved 50 tickets, I will be sending a reminder in August / September to sell the other 50-60 tickets

9th November – Brian Thomas Memorial Tournament
Sadly, we lost our good friend Brian Thomas back in March of this year
Our tradition is to have a celebration memorial tournament and invite the family to enter a team (any age)
I am pleased to share that Brian’ daughter, Amy, would love to have a memorial tournament and will enter a family team
It will be a fitting way to remember our talented friend – more details nearer the time, but I know many of you will want to put on your boots in memory of Brian!
The Essex League season will conclude for the 60/65/70’ in September and the o50’ in October
We are anticipating that the EWFL cup competitions, for each age group, will be played in October
