Great Day at the Office

It was a good day at the Essex League ‘office’ for our over 65s in July

The blues and clarets played 7 games between them , with 3 wins and 4 draws , scoring 9 and conceding just 2

The Blues beat Romford 2-0 and drew 1-1 with Leyton , followed by 0-0 draws with Southend and Billericay

Goals came from Chris Walker , Jim Waring, and George Keogh

There was also a spectacular goalkeeping performance from Steve Shoosmith to frustrate Southend

The Blues are 5th , sporting the most draws in the division, it is very fine margins – they are doing us proud

The Clarets started the day 3pts clear at the top of division 1

The boys beat Eastwood 2-1 in a hard tussle, then won 4-0 against Concord

The game against Wakering was a cagey affair, ending 0-0 despite the Clarets applying much of the pressure

Spencer Pratten scored 3, Pete Sarfas scored 2 and Matt Freeman scored 1

The Clarets ended the day 5pts clear at the top of division 1 with 2 games to play, one of them against 2nd placed Leyton Orient

A third consecutive title is in the Clarets hands.

The Clarets are now 47 games unbeaten , stretching back to June 21

A wonderful day for the whole o65’ group , showing the depth of capability that we have at the club!!
