As you know we have had a long-standing ambition to get ladies’ walking football started at the club. I am pleased to say that under Mandy Elders’ leadership we have taken our first steps (walking of course!).
We had 5 ladies at the inaugural session supported by 5 lads to help with the session and numbers. A big thank you to Bob W, Andy F, Gerry H, and Tim F for volunteering to help.
I am also grateful for the flexibility of other Thursday players who have helped accommodate the session. We already have another 3 ladies interested, I suspect it won’t take too long before we build the numbers.
In the short term we may need to set up 4 pitches to accommodate both lads and ladies on a Thursday, with a view to eventually creating a new session specifically for our ladies.
This is all work in progress. As always thank you to everyone for helping support this exciting next step for our club.
