Darrel Smashes SAS Hike for Charity

Darrel Peacock from Chelmsford City Walking Football has taken on an SAS hike (with 45lbs on his back) for the MACS charity. MACS supports children born without eyes or with severely underdeveloped eyes. The great news is Darrel has just completed the gruelling climb in the Breacon Beacons apparently, he walked the whole time, a genuinely new experience.

Darrel set a target of £2500 of fundraising for the charity and had already raised £1299. A number of club members have already contributed. As always, it is a very personal choice whether you want to support or not, we all have heartstrings that are pulled by different emotions and life experiences.

Now you may ask why is there a red phone box in two of the photos, apparently its the start and finish of the SAS Hike

Well done, Darrel, a very tough challenge, you have done yourself, the charity, and us proud!
