Chelmsford City Clarets – Closer to Another Walking Football Prize

Both our over 65 teams were in action at Billericay on Tuesday 23rd July and it was a bit of a mixed day. Our over 65 Blues had a frustrating morning picking up two 0-0 draws against Little Oakley and Billericay before narrowly losing 1-0 to Romford. The Blues remain in 4th place but a 2nd place promotion slot is now looking a bit of a stretch.

The over 65 Clarets had an uncharacteristic off day , losing 1-0 in a hard fought match against Little Oakley, then conceding a late goal for a 1-1 draw with Grays. Normal service was resumed in a convincing 3-1 win against Paringdon.

It was a timely reminder that concentration and remembering the power of game management are important disciplines in the game. Fortunately, second placed Wakering, also dropped points with two draws and two wins.

A fourth consecutive league title still remains in the Clarets own hands.
